Chapter 75: The Great Instagram Convincement

Hey guys,

First and foremost, yes, convincement is a word, I googled it.

Anyway, I have always felt negative towards the idea of Instagram because I felt it was mainstream and pointless however on the 1st May, after a bit of drinking and convincing, I got the app.

I decided that my Instagram would follow a specific format, and this is:

1 Picture, per day, everyday. Which limits my use but keeps a regular upload date. & 1 Hashtag, 3 word, always and. Which meant that every photo has a caption of any length but always ends with a hashtag that looks like '#WordAndWord', obviously with the 'word''s being replaced. All captions also start with 'Day x' with the x being replaced and they all end with 'DD/M/YY' so today's will be '31/5/16'

Day 3- Cups of tea are the saviours of

dull minds #ThoughtsAndTea - 3/5/16

Day 12- Absolutely love this group

of people #StJohnsAndCowes - 12/5/16

Day 27- Down at Gurnard playing Geezer

Top Trumps #GurnardAndGames - 27/5/16

I am actually really enjoying using the app and hope to keep up my daily uploads, feel free to follow it: @Mitchbeingdumb

This also concludes my 9 days of Blog Posts but I hope to have regular uploads in June.

Until Next Time,
Stay Happy,
Get Instagram,
And Goodbye.

Chapter 73: The Cast of the IWSCs MacBeth

Hey Guys,

So this week on YouTube, I introduced you to the cast of MacBeth
Unfortunately, the show is now over and so I may not see a lot of these people for a while now, which sucks.

(L-R) Michael, Ed, Becca, Yasmin, Josh, Myself, Mark,
Nick, Hannah, Matt, Joe, Dave, Karen, Olly, Abbie
It's been great doing another IWSC play with an incredible cast that deserves to be recognised.
I absolutely love working with MIchael, whether it be acting alongside or being directed and he did not disappoint, he really helps people understand what it is they are doing, whilst still maintaining a fun and laidback atmosphere.
I still feel privileged every time I get to act alongside Josh and this time I was lucky enough to actually have some 1on1 scenes with him. You have no idea how much he has helped me grow as a person and an actor.
So glad I have been able to meet Yasmin and act with her. It still blows me away how absolutely incredible she is at acting and how professional she is. She always makes me laugh and is genuinely and generally a nice and fun person to be around.
Forever a curse to act alongside Olly, but as usual it was great fun, it was nice, however to have a lack
of sausage filled pastries. It's been great working with him again and I hope to do more with him in the futures. Aubergine.
It has been great to work with Mark again, you have no idea how much I've missed him since Two Gents as he is genuinely one of my all time favourite people. Always great to be around and can always produce a larger smile on my face.
Never met someone as nice and funny as David and it's so great that he is a great actor too, the puns are awful, but that's what puns are, so it's great. I will never see anyone play the Porter as well as him, and will never forget the utterly strange and random things he has done to both Nick and myself. I really hope to do more stuffs with him very soon.
So glad I got to act with Karen again as it had definitely been too long. I really want to work with her again soon as she is always great fun on and off stage.
After years apart, it has been awesome acting and spending time with Joe over the last year, Looking forward to doing more stuffs with him soon as he is incredible.
I love being in shows with Abbie so much because even if we lack scenes together, I always know that she will be having fun backstage and there will always be a selfie taken by her.
I love being in shows with Hannah because she is so funny and lovely to be around. We did not have enough scenes together but our linked arms at the banquet was just ‪#‎Goals‬.
Becca is always smiling, always laughing and always happy. She may be dying slightly sometimes, but she always pulls through which is incredibly awesome. So great working with her again and hope to work alongside her, and her tail, again soon.
Always a pleasure working with Ed because swords. Also, he is a very funny and fun guy that I just love being around. Please act with me again, Dick III maybe?
Been great to meet Matt, act with him, and be the Lennox to his Ross, so much time on and off stage together has formed a nice friendship, idea pool and working relationship (Bring on Yoppul), he is a very funny guy (always good for a comedian) and a great actor and friend, hope to act with him again some time.
Behind the 110% sick bants, it has once again been a pleasure to act with Nick. MacBuff was great and I love the looks and nudges we would give each other just before every scene we were in. The Porter scene in particular was one I loved sharing with him, because I feel like we both, with Dave, bought 3 VERY different characters together in a crazy but beautiful connection.
Thank Y'all once again for being beauts and letting me tell bad jokes, probably insult you, and chuck a poor quality camera in your face so that I get a few views on the interwebs...it's a great help, you will all stick in my memories, and my wall (I have a cast photo wall) and almost certainly my 2016 book of the year.
Thankyou to everyone who came to watch, it meant the world to me and this incredible cast.

Until Tomorrow,
Stay Happy,
Appreciate A Cast,
And Goodbye.

Chapter 71: Top 10 Films (That I Am Yet To Watch)

Hey guys,

So, I'm someone who really enjoys films but never seems to have time to watch them, because of this, there is still loads of films that I haven't been able to watch. Here is a list of my top 10 films that I am yet to watch:

*In No Particular Order*
  1. The Good Dinosaur - I absolutely love Pixar films so I hate the fact that I haven't seen this yet, but as soon as I get a chance...I will.
  2. Legend - As someone really interested about the story of the Kray Twins, the fact that a new film about them was coming out made me excited, and despite using it in my media exam as one of my examples, I am somehow still yet to watch it.
  3. Brave - Similar to earlier, This is another Pixar film that I never got round to watching, I think I decided I wouldn't like it before giving it a chance.
  4. What If - After seeing the trailer, this became a film I wanted to watch very quickly, but despite getting it for Christmas 2015, I am still yet to watch it.
  5. 22 (and 21) Jump Street - Somehow these films managed to slip past me, which is odd as I am a comedy fan...probably the worst part of this is that I was gifted 22 Jump Street for Christmas...2014!
  6. Mean Girls - This, of course, isn't a film aimed at myself as a target audience, however it is a huge film, to a point where I could quote a couple of lines, This is a film that I probably should've seen, but no.
  7. Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens - I will watch this eventually as I think Star Wars is a great franchise however, the style of the Star Wars films isn't quite my kind of thing and so the nationwide hype was lost on me slightly.
  8. The Theory of Everything - We all know that this film was a touching masterpiece, but my small inside dislike of Stephen Hawkin stopped me from watching this film.
  9. Finding Dory - I can be forgiven for this one, as it is not yet released, but I'm telling you, I must watch it.
  10. Absolutely Anything - It kills me to say this one, because I LOVE Simon Pegg and Robin Williams. This also seemed like a great concept and plot for a film...I just never got round to watching it.
Until Tomorrow,
Stay Happy,
Realise What You Haven't Done,
And Goodbye.

Chapter 70: Who Are Carrie, Tom And Gi?

Hi,

So, if you watch my YouTube videos, you'll know they are all addressed to three people, Carrie, Tom & Gi and I am often asked who these people are...So allow me to clear things up.

Tom is Tom Fletcher, the lead singer and guitarist of popband McFly.
Carrie is his younger sister and is a west end star, starring in Les Miserables (Eponine) and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Truly Scrumptious).
Gi is Tom's wife, Author of 4 books and 2 novellas.

The three of them vlog to each other so they can keep up to date with each others lives as very often they are too busy with touring (mainly Tom & Carrie) to see each other regularly.

I decided that I would join in as a structure and format for my videos to make it easier for me to make videos, this has kind of stuck and now we have my channel.

I am thinking of phasing out this format for my videos as it seems a bit random for me to be doing but for now it will stay (along with a new series of videos, exclusively for a website [More on that another time]that I will start doing soon)

Until Tomorrow,
Stay Happy,
Explain Yourself,
And Goodbye.

Chapter 69: An Announcement By Any Other Name Would Smell As Sweet!

Good Morrow Everyone,

Before MacBeth is even finished, I am able to announce my next play with the IWSC, and it is.....

Romeo & Juliet!

This production will be done in a way you have never seen it before, it will be set in the 1980s with the Montagues(Romeo's fam) representing the hip-hop side of the 80s and the Capulets(Juliet's fam) representing the Glam Rock side of the 80s. Other characters will represent other fashion styles of the 80s.

Due to me being very busy this summer with my new job and therefore missing lots of rehearsals, I requested a smaller part this time; this part is Paris.

Paris is 'a suitor of Juliet. He is handsome, wealthy, and a kinsman to Prince Escalus.' As he is not a Montague or a Capulet, he will be dressed as a yuppie.
The Costume brief from the Director

That's all there really is to say right now. So farewell, parting is such sweet sorrow.

Until Tomorrow,
Stay Happy,
Make An Announcement,
And Goodbye.

Chapter 67: The British Soap Awards Re-Visited

Hey Guys,

So, In April you'll remember that I told you who I voted for in the first round of voting for The British Soap Awards, well the shortlist voting has opened and it's time for me to cast my votes again.

According to the website 'Britain’s soaps are the biggest and boldest shows on TV' which I would have to agree with. Now, my favourite soap is Eastenders and recently that has been the only one that I watch regularly, I occasionally dip into Coronation Street & Emmerdale and I do not watch Hollyoaks & Doctors, therefore, you can presume that my votes will mostly(if not all) go to Eastenders which I think would be deserving as they have had a massive year for story lines & characters...but let's get started.

To make it easier for me to write, and you to read, I will not list all the nominees, but only those from Eastenders. Coronation Street & Emmerdale (unless for some reason I would rather vote for a Hollyoaks/Doctor)

Best Actor

Original Nominations:
Eastenders: Davood Ghadami as Kush Kazemi - by far the best actor of the 3, has had tough stories.
Coronation Street: Alan Halsall as Tyrone Dobbs - Very good Actor, had some good storylines
Emmerdale: Dominic Brunt as Paddy Kirk - Great character who has recently had some big storylines
My Nomination - Davood Ghadami as Kush Kazemi

(None of my original votes are still nominated, I am left with Danny Miller, Danny Dyer & Jack P. Shepherd)

Final Nomination - Danny Dyer as Mick Carter - Decent geezer with a great character and storylines...After recent events I think Steve McFadden (Phil Mitchell) should definitely win something this year, maybe Special Recognition

Best Actress

Nominations:
Eastenders: Lacey Turner as Stacey Slater - Incredible actress & character with great storylines
Coronation Street: Alison King as Carla Connor - One of my favourite TV actresses, always amazing
Emmerdale: Lucy Pargeter as Chas Dingle - great character & actress
My Nomination - Lacey Turner (was tough between her and Rakhee, as she has had an incredible story recently)

Lacey, Alison, Lucy and Rakhee are all still up for nomination, which makes this decision extremely difficult.

Final Nomination - Lacey Turner As Stacey Slater - Sticking to my guns as it seems like the right decision although all 4 of those are incredible actresses

Best British Soap

This is the only one where the nominees do not change.

Nominations:
Eastenders, Emmerdale, Coronation Street, Hollyoaks, Doctors
My Nomination - Eastenders, my easy favourite soap, tackles the best issues in the best ways.

Final Nomination - Eastenders- Of course, Will always be the Enders.

And that is all I can do now, Later on in the month, I will reveal the winners of these awards as well as the others decided on the night.

You can cast your votes HERE until Friday 27th May...So not long left

Until Next Time,
Stay Happy,
Vote,
And Goodbye.

Chapter 66: Shakespeare

Hey Guys,

So This week on YouTube I told you my Top 10 Shakespeare Plays.
Shakespeare is an interesting topic for me, because although I really enjoy being part of the plays and acting alongside some great people, I'm still not a huge fan of the Bard's work...Don't get me wrong, I think he is a genius and I think his work is extraordinary...It's just not my cup-of-tea or something I'd particularly go out of my way to watch.

Since doing The Winter's Tale in December 2014 however, I have grown more of a soft spot for it, and throughout Henry IV, Henry V, Two Gentlemen Of Verona, As You Like It and now MacBeth I have definitely appreciated the work more for what it is, how hard it can be to perform and how hard it can be to gather an audience.

That is about all I have to say today, so..

Until Ne--Tomorrow,
Stay Happy,
Watch Shakespeare,
and Goodbye.

Chapter 65: Sorry, But Exams!

Hey Guys,

So, it's been a while and May is lacking in posts a bit....It's the 22nd and there has only been 2 posts so far.

My excuse: I've been mega busy with exams, and stuff for my new job (more on that in time), and planning special videos and things for December and rehearsing for plays and such....BUT...

The time has come for me to post a few things, for the next 9 days...because that's what is left of May, I will upload a something for every single day...Because that's how nice I am and how sorry I am.

Until Next Time,
Stay Happy,
Accept This Apology,
And Goodbye.

Chapter 64: Schemaytic (2016 Goals)

Hey Guys,

So, My good ol' friend Georgia over at
Saltwater Sunset
is doing 2016 Goals blog posts, in which she outlines that she will be setting herself goals every month, and then she gave a list of her goals.

I think this is a really cool idea, so, complete with awful punny titles, I shall give my own goals...
These will be on the 15th of each month (Yes, it's a day late this week...deal with it)

PLANUARY SUCCESS RATING: 62.5%

FEBRUAIMY SUCCESS RATING: 62.5%

MARCHINATION: 75%

HOPERIL: 75%
  • Learn Lines for the 2 plays that I'm in
  • Add some extra bits to my completed Media coursework
  • Do well in my drama exam
  • Begin saving money for 'Austria 2017'
SCHEMAYTIC: So, this one is kinda like Schematic, having a scheme...but with a 'y' for May...
  • Complete all my exams so that I feel happy with them
  • Complete the training days for my new job
  • Read A Book
  • Film some YouTube videos for when I'm Away

I'm gonna do a new thing which is a Health/Fitness/Hygiene/Grooming Focus for the month
This week it is - Facial Clenser

I've only started with a small list as I want to make sure I'm setting achievable targets.

In June, I will review my success of 'Schemaytic', and then create a new list of goals for June, which will have an even worse pun.

Until Next Time,
Stay Happy,
Set Goals,
And Goodbye.

Chapter 63: The Squad

Hey guys,

So a post here has been long overdue as I'm mega busy right now, But alas I am back to talk to you about this week's video (I'm supposed to upload my monthly goals today too...but I don't have time for both, so I'll do them soon as well as my next round of votes for the Soap Awards. But...

Back to this post, This week on YouTube, some rebranding was done (as it also was on the blog) and I talked to you about my Squad:

I think it's only right to give each of them a nice soppy paragraph over hear too
So, this time, I'll write in order of appearance in this photo (L-R)
Here we are, the Squad (Left-Right) Ches, Alfie, Hannah,
Sophie, Joe, Ruby, Abbie, Lulu & Myself

Ches
This guy is genuinely one of the nicest guys you could possibly know, like sometimes too nice to the point where it's nearly annoying how nice he is. He is also beautiful, funny, talented and camp as Christmas.

Alfie
As I said, Alfie is one of my best friends and is so friendly, funny and loyal. You can always count on Alfie to tell an un-PC joke or to keep an in-joke going and if not, he's probably asleep.
Hannah
One of my favourites from this group of baes, she is so #Beaut and amazing and is always really nice and funny even if she thinks she's better than me.

Sophie
Sophie seems to pretend to be quiet, but she can be bloody loud, I absolutely love how awkward she can be at times and I think she is a real babe.
Joe
The current newest addition to the squad but one of the oldest of my friends, he is such a great, down-to-Earth guy and on paper should not be friends with us lot at all, but despite being a genius and well-behaved lad, he fits right in with us bunch of weirdos.

Ruby
By far the craziest, loudest, maddest one of the whole squad, sometimes unbearably so....but she doesn't stop laughing, and I love seeing people laugh...so long live the randomness of Rubdolph.

Abbie
What a bae, she is definitely the most mature out of all of us...but that doesn't stop her from having top quality banter with us all. She is also the best hugger of them all, and I love me a good hug.

Lulu
Such a bae, Lulu is the one that I probably talk to most on the interwebs, she is very loyal and I can trust her with everything, she also has a pretty darn fine house.

Michael
Michael is the genius that brought us all together for various Shakespeare plays and for that I am hugely grateful because it has given me so many lovely friends who I would never have met otherwise. He does not realise how much he has changed and helped my life...What a legend.

And then there's me, but you all know me...So

Until Next Time,
Stay Happy.
Appreciate Awesome Friends,
And Goodbye.
